Doug Eaton grew up in Coleford, Forest of Dean. After traditional grammar school education he went on to Stroud School of Art and then Cheltenham College of Art in the late sixties. He started to paint full time in 1977 but business soon took a more graphic stance and remained so until 2001. During that early period he exhibited at the Royal West of England, Cheltenham Group of Artists, Pastel Society, as part of a four man show at Hereford Museum and many local exhibitions. In 2001 he decided to paint more and take another look at what was around. He has work in many private collections in the UK and abroad; also has work on show in the USA and Canada.
Although born in the great industrial city of Coventry, Mary Edwards has spent most of her life in the country and nearly all of that living and working on farms on the border between Wales and England in the glorious Wye Valley. For more than 30 years Mary has developed a unique style of painting in oils, depicting intriguing views of rural life, which, though contemporary in style, are intensely nostalgic snapshots of country people and the animals they look after, love and depend upon. But her work is not purely rural – her figurative work portrays the interactions between people and, as with all of her paintings, the title of each piece is an integral element of the work itself.
Anne works with many different art forms including screen printing, portraiture, painting and sculpture.
With a world full of technology being a part of everyday life and as technology is altering rapidly, our old devises are filling up our landfill sites at an alarming pace and damaging our environment. I take these discarded and unused objects, breathing new life info them. I enjoy taking things apart and seeing how they work, I combine this with upclycling, which is a great way to reuse materials and reduce our footprint
